Richard is married to Helen, and they have three children.
He is a farmer and former Chartered Surveyor. He has an MBA from the University of Cambridge.
Richard was High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire from 2017-2018 and was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant for Cambridgeshire in 2018.
Richard is a trustee of the Arbory Trust, and a former trustee of the Cambridgeshire Police Shrievalty Trust (CPST). He is also a former trustee of the National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB).
Richard is Chair of the Capital Fundraising Campaign for Maggie’s Cambridge, and a former Chair of the Cambridgeshire Committee of the Country Land & Business Association (CLA), and the Cambridgeshire Game & wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT).
A Member of Family Business UK, Richard’s other interests are conservation, skiing and cycling.
