Lady De Ramsey DL

Lady De Ramsey was born in Berkshire and spent her working life in London in the Interior Design world.  In 1984 Alison married John, they have three children and live in Abbots Ripton.

Since 1994 she has been involved with Ormiston Families, a charity working with disadvantaged families all over East Anglia.  She helped set up a project in Highpoint Prison which runs children’s visits to their fathers.

Alison is a Vice Patron of the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation and also of The Cambridgeshire Young Carers Trust and a Patron of The Papworth Trust Centenary Circle.  For 5 years she has been a volunteer working for Citizens Advice Witness Service, working with Prosecution witnesses in Peterborough and Huntingdon Crown Courts.   At home she is in charge of the programme of restoration of the houses and cottages on the family farm and estate.

Alison’s hobbies are horse racing, gardening and travelling and her limited spare time is spent helping her daughter run her clothing business.

Alison was the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire for 2009/10, and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire in 2016.
