The Rt Hon Lord Andrew Lansley CBE PC DL

Lord Lansley served as Conservative MP for South Cambridgeshire from 1997-2015. For 13 years he was a member of the Cabinet or Shadow Cabinet. In 2010, Andrew Lansley was appointed a member of the Privy Council.

As Leader of the House of Commons and Lord Privy Seal, he led the implementation of the Government’s legislative programme and managed the day-to-day business of the House. He served as Secretary of State for Health from 2010-2012.

Following his retirement from The Commons, he was elevated to the House of Lords in October 2015.

Since 2015, Lord Lansley has been Chair of the Cambridgeshire Development Forum.

Andrew lives with his wife Sally and family on the border between Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.

Lord Lansley was awarded a CBE in 1996 for political service. In 2025, Lord Lansley was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, by the Emperor of Japan, in recognition of his work in promoting UK and Japanese relations. Lord Lansley was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire in 2016.
