Gill was involved for 50 years in a wide range of organisations, including the Justice System, Tribunals, the voluntary sector and the NHS.
She was a Parish and District Councillor. A surveyor by profession she worked for Local Government and the New Towns, focussing on economic development and attracting new investment especially from overseas.
Gill was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire in 2007. She passed away in November 2020 (obituary).
