James was educated in Cambridge and Rutland and he lives in Cambridge with his wife Emily and two children.
James completed his apprenticeship in heating and ventilation at Cambridge Regional College, he founded Huttie, a Heating, Ventilation and electrical business with a keen interest in renewable technologies.
James has been a Governor at CRC and is supportive of the apprentice scheme, he also supports local sports teams and charities.
His latest project and interest is his involvement with steam trains and he is currently working with a team on a ride on railway project.
James was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant for Cambridgeshire in 2023.
