Their Majesties The King and Queen visit Cambridgeshire

On Tuesday 22 July 2025 Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited The National Stud in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire.

Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla were received by HM Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Julie Spence OBE CStJ QPM to The National Stud in Newmarket celebrating their shared passion for horses and British racing.

They met with The Chairman of the National Stud, The Lord Grimthorpe DL and the Chief Executive Mrs Anna Kerr. The visit began at the main stallion yard where The King and Queen met several of the The Stud’s resident stallions including champion Stradivarius. During their visit they chatted with staff and students of The National Stud and British Racing School which offers vocational training in thoroughbred breeding and the care of future champions

To end the visit The King and Queen planted two field maple trees to mark the occasion.
